Ever have one of those days where messes seem to find their way to you? That was my today. First thing after getting to work, I discovered that my lunch — leftover lentil soup — had leaked all through the bag I had carried it in, though I didn’t notice until it had continued leaking all over my desk.
Fast forward to the end of the workday, when I went to pack up to go home and found out that the homemade applesauce I hadn’t eaten at lunch had tipped over and all the liquid oozed out, soaking my lunchbag, and (you guessed it!) getting all over my desk.
But wait, there’s more.
I came home from work to find my crockpot dinner (pot roast!) had overflowed all over the counter and into the inside of the cooker. After thanking my lucky stars it hadn’t shorted out, I cursed the massive, sticky mess of beefy juices covering a third of my kitchen counter, which made the soup and applesauce incidents from earlier in the day seem like child’s play.
Needless to say, I am afraid to move the (very full) pot of gravy that the overflowing crockpot produced, for fear of dropping it or having it somehow mysteriously coat the fridge in gravy.
Tomorrow: solid foods only.
