Ice, Ice Baby

Today’s pre-holiday plan involved — initially, anyway — going to ZooLights with my brother’s family. It’s been a few years since we’ve been, and the weather was supposed to be decent so it seemed like a good time to go. When we were making final plans yesterday, though, I mentioned to my sister-in-law that the ice rink at Canal Park was open, so maybe we could get an earlier start and go skating for a little while first. We agreed this sounded like fun and settled on a time to get together.

As it turned out, “a little while” ended up being almost three hours! We skated for so long that we ended up just grabbing dinner afterward and postponing ZooLights until next weekend, because we were all too tired to walk around the zoo. (And believe me, wearing out me nephews is no easy task.) It was a lot of fun, but whoa, am I ever wiped.

Too wiped, really, to manage much in the way of a blog post, so a few photos will have to do.

Speeding past in a blur is pretty much how D. spent most of the day.

G, unlike his brother, slowed down enough for a picture. (No idea who the random guy in the background is, but at least he kinda smiled for the picture.)
