It’s Saturday once again (How does the time go so quickly?) so it’s time to look back at three beautiful things from the past week.
1. I could not be happier with my silver Christmas tree — it’s so sparkly, colorful, and cheery!
2. I went to a fundraiser for Ready, Willing, and Working – the job-training program for formerly-homeless men based in my neighborhood – and was so inspired by the organization and the hard work the participants do to transform their lives.
3. I went ice skating with my nephews this afternoon at Canal Park, which just opened a couple of weeks ago down by the ballpark. It’s so nice to see activity coming to that part of the neighborhood year-round, and judging by the number of folks skating today, I’m not the only one who feels that way.
What’s been beautiful in your life this week?
1. For 360+days each year, my back works!
2. That the family / house are safe.
3. Our Christmas shopping was done before December. Trying to embrace the gift of slowing down.
1. Last Sunday we had about 50 people over to the new house for a house blessing. It was great. Having a party spill out on the patio with a big group picture made it feel like the good old days. Added bonus were the cookies from James mothers day out fundraiser – take dough from freezer, bake and voila “homemade” cookies. We ate 8 dozen!
2. Received more of our new furniture from Room & Board and all of our Smith & Noble blinds came in and were installed (16 windows installed for $149 – um yes please!) it’s beginning to feel like home folks.
3. And best for last. I had a neuro check up (haven’t been since April 2011) and passed the exam with flying colors. MRIs are on the 7th & 10th to confirm all is as well as it looks 🙂 but a good report!
