Baseball, Yoga, and Naptime

It’s been a tremendously hectic week, as I noted a few days ago, but full of fun and friends — the kind of week where it’s hard to narrow the beautiful things down to just three. But since that’s the theme for this post, that’s what I’ll do.

1. There was a lot to love about this week when it came to baseball: Jenna and I celebrated the Nats clinching the NL East on Monday (I also got to sneak into the club area to finally meet my friends Charles and Jordi’s new baby Cora — and catch up with her mama), I enjoyed cupcakes and a foggy night in center field with sprite and Rudi on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, Teddy finally won the presidents’ race in a game where the Nats secured the best record in the regular season. (Not with me in attendance, alas.)

2. I survived my first yoga class in a year without dying — and was reminded, as I am every time I go back to yoga, that I really do love it.

3. On my way to work yesterday, I received a reminder email that the office was closing at 3:00 to give us a head start on the Columbus Day holiday. This meant I’d have time to go home and nap before heading out to Michael’s play (which, incidentally, went off without a hitch) and I was absolutely overjoyed.

What was beautiful about your week?

1, 2, 3. Last night’s dinner…first one in weeks where we were all at the table at the same time and no one had to rush out to make a meeting / practice / class / etc. We started and ended together, and everyone helped with dishes…we knew we missed that but we didn’t know how much! Now we’re looking forward to next Sunday…our first chance in weeks to sleep in (past 7:30)!

I had no idea there were times when you didn’t desperately want a cupcake, Joanne.
