It’s just a few days before Labor Day, and much to my dismay, I haven’t been to the beach at all this summer. This means a) I need to put “fall trip to the beach” on the calendar ASAP, and b) I’ll have to do today’s 10 on Tuesday prompt – things to do at the beach – from memory, rather than recent experience. Or maybe I should look at it as a to-do list?
(Note: please assume that all of these activities are either taking place under an umbrella and/or with a liberal dose of high-SPF sun screen. I inherited what my grandma called “cheap Irish skin,” so the sun at the beach is my natural enemy.)
5. Drink frozen beverages.
7. Pick up seashells.
8. Make a sandcastle.
10. Stare at the waves. (Often leads to #6.)
What did I miss? What are your favorite things to do at the beach?
Also: if you’d like an entirely different take on a 10 on Tuesday – but also written by me! – here’s my contribution to the work blog today: [10 on Tuesday] 10 Ways Preservationists Can Manage the Social Media Time Crunch. Though I wrote it from preservation-specific angle, I’d like to think it would translate to other types of organizations, too.
