We Have Bricks and Insulation

I wasn’t quite sure what to write about today, and I have breached the “I’ll post mid-day” agreement with Sarah, but thankfully the construction gods have smiled on me.

The insulation started going in on Monday and today we started bricking. We also took a huge delivery of dry wall – there are piles of it all over the house.

This afternoon the masons arrived to start laying the bricks 🙂
Standing in the kitchen and looking at all the beautiful insulation that will keep the heat out in the summer and the warmth in during the winter.
Standing on the stairs and looking at the game room upstairs (through the closet framing). The room looks like its wrapped up in the Pillsbury Dough Boy’s folds.

And a bonus picture, completely unrelated to the house. James slept in this morning until 9am. This is how I found him when I went to check in on him at 8am…super cute.

My favorite part is the feet sticking out of the bars…even though there is all that real estate to stretch out on!

Moving right along!! Love the brick 👏👏👏. It will be interesting to see if James sticks his feet out from under the covers too, like some of the rest of us. CUTE!

P.S. Just realized when I looked up and out my livingroom window that your brick coloring appears to be very similar to Snyders! And I’m so glad it is being laid by masons individually instead of being put up in “sheets”, which seems to be a current construction trend around here.
