Bed, Excitement, and Fix

Ah, Saturday. Time, once again – after a couple of vacation-induced weeks off – to look back at three beautiful things from the past week:

1. After a long trip, there is nothing like coming home and sleeping in my own bed.

2. Walking home from work, I pass a family heading down the street, the toddler son jumping up in excitement every few steps. I have no idea where he was going, but he sure looked thrilled to be going there.

3. I was able to get a summer hockey fix today at the Caps Fan Fest and prospect scrimmage today – and I got to watch my nephew have a blast playing ball hockey, too.

What’s been beautiful in your world this week?

    1. 8 mile canoe trip…paddling by eagles in their nest, watching kids gain confidence, finally laughing at the multitude of mistakes we made the last time we canoed (15 years ago?).
    2. Development Camp…a ton of fun! And we were allowed to carry our picnic into the arena, which is a huge deal for a minivan full of growing kids and the people trying to afford them.
    3. Teamwork. Watched 4 young kids working together and encouraging each other – unprovoked. Everyone contributed to helping everyone else and they did it with glad hearts.
