Early-Onset Jet Lag

According to the clock, I’ve been awake a little over 11 hours today. My body, however, knows that west coast clocks are big fat liars, and I’ve actually been up for more than 14. Not the longest day ever, that’s for sure. Heck, probably not even my longest day this week. And yet, I am so damn tired. I mean, it’s not even bedtime at home – and barely happy hour here – and I could easily sleep the night away. Is it possible to have instant jet lag when only traveling three time zones?

At any rate, here is where I am. If you look past the freeway and the back of the strip mall, the hills are really gorgeous.

I always find traveling west screws me up way more than coming back east. Interestingly, though, because I go to bed so late here, my feeling tired early for my usual self is roughly the appropriate time to go to bed in the new locale.
