Oh Hey, Weekend

My homemade cherry Pop-Tart from Ted's Bulletin.
My homemade cherry Pop-Tart from Ted’s Bulletin.

Things I am excited about this weekend:

  • Getting lots of sleep. (Least surprising thing ever, right?)
  • Eating the homemade Pop-Tart I picked up at Ted’s Bulletin tonight. (Cherry. With sprinkles. I can hardly wait.)
  • Enjoying some gorgeous weather. (Looks pretty much perfect, amirite?)
  • Making my first visit to the H Street FreshFarm Market. (Yes, I’m cheating on Eastern Market.)
  • Reading on my porch. (Maybe I’ll finally finish The Game after poking my way through it for eight or nine months.)
  • Doing a little more gardening. (I don’t have any basil yet. Must fix that.)

Things I am nervous about this weekend:

  • The Caps game. (Entirely possible that I will not be breathing at all from 7:30 -10:30 or so.)

How’s your weekend shaping up?

I was highly impressed with the blueberry cheesecake poptart I had from them yesterday. It may be my favorite flavor of theirs.

A deli bag with a WINDOW! Great marketing tool but also kinda cruel when you have to look at the treat and you are waiting for hours to eat it!! ENJOY!

Quiet weekend here. I have a **BEAUTIFUL** vase of flowers to look at and a nice filet for the grill on Sunday. (Had most of my family last Sunday 😊). Had a pedicure & fab Philly cheese steak crepe yesterday for lunch (preceded by a mammogram and fasting blood work — so I DESERVED both!) and then went to our just-reopened farmers market. Getting the deck ready for sitting today. So, I’m good!!

Our weekend weather will be absolutely GORGEOUS, so we have a ton of yard work: moving 3.5 yards of dirt from the front driveway to the back garden, extending the garden so that this year’s watermelon and pumpkin crops are a little more manageable, plant the garden – or at least the tomatoes and such that I picked up, planting the annuals also purchased yesterday, biking to TaeKonDo class with middle, LAST hockey game of the season for oldest, mow neighbor’s yard since we’re supposed to take care of the house while they’re away and restock their fridge before their return, call niece tomorrow to sing her “Happy (13th) Birthday.” I DO NOT have to cook dinner tomorrow, though 🙂

We will be exhausted for tonight’s game 7, and we’re hoping that will take the edge off our nerves.

Homemade Pop-Tarts were a big hit here. Jack really liked the blueberry cheesecake, “mmmm, that was good.” That’s an enthusiastic thumbs up from a 12-year-old boy!
