It’s a two-post Saturday, because I need to share this past week’s three beautiful things, but they just didn’t seem to fit in with the skyblogging post. I’ve kinda been sharing beautiful things all week long (most notably, this), as having a week of family time and being on vacation are full of little moments, but here are three I didn’t mention before.
1. We were loaned a special pin for our visit to the Houston Rodeo that allowed us free access – and to sit wherever we wanted, so long as we moved if ticket holders arrived to claim their seats. We watched about half the events from just a few rows back, and never had to leave the lower tier, even for the Miranda Lambert concert after the sporty part was done.
Bonus rodeo beautiful thing: Miranda played my favorite of her songs, “The House that Built Me.” I may have gotten a little misty.
2. Eileen introduced me to the summery deliciousness that is frozen sangria. I don’t know if this is available in DC (I’ve never seen it), but you can bet I’ll be keeping my eye out for it now.
3. I was planning to use my Sunday at home to clean up my apartment and do my laundry from the trip, but I was reminded via email that yesterday was my scheduled visit from the cleaners, and Eileen and I did all my wash this morning before I packed, so my chores are done and I’m faced with a relaxing, chore-free Sunday. I don’t think anyone would disagree that that’s a beautiful thing.
What’s been beautiful in your world this week?
