It’s a sunny, warm afternoon here in DC – a perfect time to take a break from my pre-vacay to-do list and look back at three beautiful things from the past week:
1. I managed to come home from work on Monday night with enough energy to cook up a tasty-sounding dinner I found (where else) on Pinterest. It came out even better than I expected, and made enough to feed me deliciously for most of the week.
2. This will probably get a blog post of its own sooner rather than later, but I couldn’t be happier that hockey players are the vanguard of athletes supporting LGBT rights in sports – and with a simple message that anyone can grasp: “If you can play, you can play.”
3. Today was the draft for our baseball season ticket group. It was great to see the folks I hadn’t seen over the winter, and my brother and I worked together to make sure we had a good selection of games spread over the season. My batch includes a couple of my favorites – weekday afternoon games, ’cause there’s little in life that’s better than playing hooky from work to sit in the sunshine, drink a beer, and watch a ballgame.
What’s been beautiful in your world this week?
