In a normal person’s life, this would be a day of celebration, or perhaps great relief. Yesterday we paid the final mortgage payment and now own our “house” free and clear…but this is what we own.

On the up side, we do own the land, and that has real value, so that is something. In reality owning the land not a bad return for a four-year investment.

And we met for a third time with the builder Friday. We have settled on a plan, and will sign the contract on Monday to officially start the process of rising from the ashes. So yesterday was in fact a good day. A day of accomplishment. A day to look forward and not back. A cause for celebration!
Cheers!
Woo Hoo! Going forward… You can not go back — 2012 will = a new HOME — with family and LOVE.
Wow. More of it is standing than I thought – I was imagining the whole back was gone, but the exterior wall is still there. Congrats on getting started with the new house. Still thinking you’ll be done by Christmas?
In addition to the weeds, btw, I like that your patio furniture is still out, like nothing is wrong at all.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
For some reason the picture of the weeds, I mean the back just makes me giggle 🙂
Can you use any of the scraps from the old house to build a fort or treehouse for your young one in the back yard?
