Off to a Good Start, Last Ones, and Warmth

Oh, hey, Saturday. Guess this means it’s time to look back at three beautiful things from the past week.

1. The New Year’s Day brunch I attended was so fun and full of friends that many of us stayed until nearly dinner time. It was a terrific way to start the year.

2. After procrastinating far too long on buying my nephews’ Christmas gifts for our belated family celebration, I lucked out and got the very last Hex Bugs at the toy store by their house.

3. The week started and ended with unseasonably warm temperatures – nice enough to go without a coat. I found this much more pleasing than the mid-week cold snap with wind chills in the teens.

What’s been beautiful in your world this week?

    1. We celebrated Louise’s 86th birthday at our house last night. We had a great time. First off, anytime you can celebrate living 86 years is awesome, and it was nice to host. Felt like a big step forward.

    2. Project Runway Allstars started on Thursday (and Revenge and Grey’s were back) mean fun evenings with Chris.

    3. Just this week I’ve started having James walk himself to the car. It’s so adorable and yet I can’t believe my baby is big enough to walk himself to the car!!! He holds my hand crossing the threshold and down the one step. At first he was a bit uncertain walking through the yard but he is gaining such confidence. My big boy…sniff sniff.

Please wish Louise a happy (though belated) birthday from me!

    1. Jules turned one month old, and we haven’t killed her yet.

    2. Due t o the above mentioned warmth, we all took a walk today and introduced Jules to the stroller and the neighborhood.

    3. We took Jules to her one month check-up and she gained over a pound since her last doctor’s visit and grew 2 inches!

Okay, so my world is kind of narrow at the moment. I can’t wait to get back to work!

I think those are all very beautiful things, indeed! (Though I had every confidence that you’d be able to keep her alive and happy.) And they also remind me that I need to look at the train/bus schedule to figure out when I can come meet Jules!

    1. Broke a 127-year-old record with January temperatures in the 50’s. Called Dad to tell how it was warmer here than there (temps typically 70 degrees colder w/o windchill)!!!!
    2. Open class with middle on Saturday. Favorite parts were board breaks and ninja stars.
    3. Talk w/ Sue. Been awhile since we both had more than 5 minutes at the same time to catch up.
