Apple, Meet Tree

There is a moment in every woman’s life when she suspects she might be turning into her mother. This text message conversation with my mom yesterday just might be mine.

Mom's gingersnaps.
Mom's gingersnaps.

Mom: (Sent with the photo of gingersnaps at right.) Shall I bring some along for our Christmas morning coffee in the room? They are awesome & the house smells fab to boot!! Gracias to Shannon & Pat!! *

Me: Haha. Great minds think alike. Been hoarding some of my cookies to bring, too.

Mom: Ok!! Let’s coordinate this towards the end of the week!! BTW, I already have a pint of Bailey’s for Christmas Eve sipping 🙂

Me: Guess I’ll cross that off my shopping list.

Mom: Great Minds, indeed!!!

Yes, we were both planning to pack cookies and alcohol for our Christmas trip to New York City. We’ve made reservations for exactly one restaurant and have only a vague plan of what we’ll be doing while we’re there, but we have the snacking and drinking covered. Priorities!

* The recipe for the gingersnaps is courtesy of Pat, my second mother – and actual mother of BFF Shannon.

The big question is, is the Baileys packed in the special suitcase of awesomeness?

It would have been, if Mom hadn’t beaten me to buying it!

I think it’s awesome that you two are spending Xmas Eve in NYC. Have a great time.

Those are Maggie’s favorite cookies too. We made them on Sunday but I have to make more on Wednesday. They do make the house smell soooooo good and are great with coffee/tea.
