Growth, Perfect Start, and Genetics

I sense pesto in my very near future...

It’s Saturday and time once again to look back at three beautiful things from the past week.

1. It’s been a hot, sunny, muggy week, and while not my favorite weather, it clearly is my garden’s. Everything is growing like crazy and I love going out on to the porch each morning and seeing how much it all has grown.

2. An early work dismissal and outdoor happy hour with sparkling white wine made for the perfect start to the holiday weekend.

3. At the baseball game today, I noticed two family resemblances that made me smile: my brother and I have the same odd way of eating peanuts, and my younger nephew turns bright red on a hot day, just like his dad and I both do.

What’s been beautiful in your world this week?

    1. Impromptu generational lacrosse games…watching Harry coach the kids and the kids respond to him…having to work to score on the kids. Watching oldest try to coach our adult neighbor and pull off the ball snag (the adult could not) – hysterical.
    2. During his graduation, middle saw that Mom was getting a little weepy, so he flashed me the most impish of grins with a quick wave and made me laugh instead.
    3. Despite living in Canada, Harry has visited the classrooms, teachers, and met the principals for each of his grandkids. He’s been on the mat in Tae Kwon Do, helped to dress for hockey, and the list goes on and on. His efforts to stay involved in their lives despite distance and borders, etc. is just amazing encouraging, and all sorts of positive!
