It’s Saturday afternoon, and therefore time to look back on three beautiful things from the past week:
1. The weather was so lovely that I drank my coffee outside on the back porch (in my beautiful Adirondack chair) for six consecutive mornings.
2. Friday night was Stitch ‘n Pitch at the Nationals game, which I attended with sprite and Rudi. We had the great good fortune to watch Roger Bernadina make what may be the most amazing catch I will ever see live.
3. First local strawberries. Need I say more?
What’s been beautiful in your life this week?
1. First mani-pedi of the season, California Raspberry, for $30!
2. A solution for the open entertainment center w/glass shelves issue (James likes to chew the glass and push the buttons) – plexiglass, duct tape & Velcro 🙂
3. It rained, briefly, for the first time in like 45-60 days.
1. *Beautiful, rain-free 5 days. Awesome :). Like Sarah, lots of porch sitting and some putzing in the yard.
2. Flowers everywhere — crabapple & cherry trees, lilacs, forsythia, tulips — you name it, it’s all in bud or flowering. Gorgeous everywhere!! (Won’t comment on the pollen factor )
3. Made reservation to go see the Loons in June!!
1. Mom’s #3 made my/our #1!!!!!!!!! We’re giddy!!!
2. Had dinner with a girlfriend. Great laughs and stress relief.
3. Got some parenting validation. It’s nice to be treated as an intelligent human being “despite” the fact that I’m a SAHM.
@ Eileen: It hasn’t rained since we visited? Yikes.
@ Mom: No lilacs here…yet. Maybe this week if we can string some nice days together…
@ Loon (and/or Eileen, etc) — DO NOT EVER let anyone put you down for being a SAHM — it is THE most important & eventually fulfilling job you will ever have!!! You all are intelligent & have great brains! Luckily (and gracias to your Dads & hubbies), you all had/have the best of both worlds. Blessed were all of you and all I can do is glory in all your accomplishments and your beautiful families. — And, cudos as well to all the “working outside the home” Moms. It is NOT easy to keep all the balls in the air. Tiz a challenging lifestyle for sure. — And, remember, ladies, we all have done this for *equality* !! Hmmmmmm…..
