Found, Recognized, and Fixed

Despite the gray skies and spitting rain, it’s been a pretty great Saturday. I spent the morning with my brother and nephews at the Caps Kids’ Club event, came home on the Metro to find the Red Hook Lobster Truck waiting outside Eastern Market Station, and had a nice nap. I’ll be finishing my day with dinner prepared in my friends Julia & Michael’s newly-renovated kitchen, but before I head over, I thought I’d take a moment to look back at three beautiful things from the past week.

1. At the very last store we checked, I finally found the lined wool pants I’d been seeking on the shopping trip Joanne & I took last Sunday. My week was much warmer as a result.

2. We recently had a really big save at work, and much to my surprise, I was part of the group called out for special recognition in making it happen during the office-wide celebration.

3. After nearly a year of trying, I finally figured out the last step in taking the old name off this blog. Joy!

What’s been beautiful in your life this week?

    1. Family moments – a smile and and an award, a book, a kiss, a game, a question
    2. Tuesday’s kickboxing class was energetic and an awesome workout…to the point that many had to motrin to move on Wednesday. Was anything different really done? No. Just seems it was the amount of participation and encouragement that took an ordinary workout to another level.
    3. Neat feat at church this morning…in order to demonstrate the connectedness of the church, everyone in the entire service got taped together with mailing tape. All 400 at that particluar service, and the the task was accomplished during a single song. It was hysterical fun, zig-zagging all over, everyone – to include the band – was stuck, and I only lost a little hair.
    4. Wish I was in HI, but since that cannot be at present, it’s neat to know that my FIL arrived on Friday. He said if I could get there he’d give me a place to stay, and wouldn’t you know that an internet deal popped into my inbox Friday night?
