One Down, Nine to Go

Well, technically nine and a half, since I cited two knitting works-in-progress on my list of staycation projects, but given that it’s only Monday, having gotten one of them finished already feels like an accomplishment.

Of course, since I spent a large chunk of my weekend – as well as today – sitting on my couch coughing, perhaps I should have gotten more done. I have been feeling pretty icky, though, so I’m not feeling guilty about my lack of productivity. (Don’t, however, get me started on how annoyed I am to have come down with a cold at the start of my time off. Suffice to say that I am extraordinarily displeased.) I picked up a pile of cough syrup and vitamin-y stuff at CVS yesterday, and I think I am starting to feel better, though of course, that could just be the effect of the drugs.

At any rate… here are a couple of pretty pictures of my newly-finished socks:

And just in time for back-to-school wardrobe update time! (I always want new clothes at this time of year. Maybe it’s just me?)

    Congrats! They look great!

    Nice socks.

James needs some cute socks or a hat or something… 🙂 [realistically he’ll need them in 3 month size cause he won’t actually need to be wearing socks & hats til Thanksgiving/Christmas 😉 ]

Somehow I knew knitting would be your first project — nice way to start relaxing!! Great Job and they are so cute 🙂

    Hope you feel better soon!

4 more days to go!!! And I know I’m awake early (the “to do” list is tumbling around in my head). 😦

@Mom: which to do list? The office one or the what I’m going to do to keep busy/entertained once retired? Enjoy the last 4 days!!

8 to go!! Mount Vernon — glad you got there. I vaguely remember going there at about age 19 on my first trip anywhere. Right, Fran??? Our *big* DC venture — a bus trip back then. My guess is that it hasn’t changed much — being ‘preserved’ and all!! You’ll just have to add this to your list of places to take relatives & friends when they come for visits & free tour guided sites. Hugs!
