Friday Random 10

Because why should Wednesday have all the fun?

On the way to work this morning, my iPhone was seeming especially random, though whether this is actually the case, or a reaction to the fact that I accidentally turned the shuffle off at some point yesterday and didn’t realize it until I had heard “Norwegian Wood” twice in a row (two different albums), I can’t really be sure. But at any rate, I thought I’d share, and also throw the comments open – as if I would ever do otherwise – to see what y’all are listening to.

1. “Come and I Will Sing You” – Great Big Sea

2. “Say Goodbye to Hollywood” – Billy Joel

3. “Hungry Like the Wolf” – Duran Duran

4. “Cattle And The Creeping Things” – The Hold Steady

5. “It’s Raining Men” – The Weather Girls

6. “Hungry Heart” – Bruce Springsteen

7. “Ignoreland” – R.E.M.

8. “In My Tree” – Pearl Jam

9. “Rock -n- Roll Heaven’s Gate” – Indigo Girls

10. “This is Not a Test” – She & Him

I wondered if this was going to be today’s topic, since all of a sudden all your R10 posts showed back up in my Google reader. Yay!

    1. “Creeque Alley” — The Mamas & The Papas
    2. “I Feel Fine” — The Beatles
    3. “Jealous Guy” — Ian McCulloch
    4. “We’re a Couple of Misfits” — The cast of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
    5. “Put One Foot in Front of the Other” — The cast of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town
    6. “Do You Hear What I Hear?” — Mahalia Jackson (Until I got to this song, I thought I might be able to get away with the excuse that although the two previous songs came from Christmas specials, they actually have nothing to do with the holiday. Clearly, once this song came up, I had to go with the Christmas in July excuse instead. Think of snow. It’ll make you feel cooler.)
    7. “Realize” — Colbie Caillat
    8. “Cortez the Killer” — Neil Young
    9. “I’ll Follow the Sun” — The Beatles
    10. “Bleeker Street” — Jonatha Brooke

Really? It re-fed all the pages I just updated tags on? I don’t think it is supposed to do that. Or, more accurately, I don’t want it to do that. You may want to ignore your reader this weekend, then, at least where this blog is concerned. I’m hoping to finish a re-organization project that I started a while back. Mucho re-tagging/categorizing.

I like the holiday music – it helps w/ cool thoughts!

I think it’s Google Reader that does it. Every once in a while it gives me a whole bunch of old posts from a blog, which usually makes me figure they’ve been tweaked or retagged in some way. Clearly, it felt that it had already informed me of your blog housecleaning because it didn’t give me any additional updates.
