Well, today was the big day. We are having a boy – James Christopher is due September 26. He is developing on target and we are overjoyed!
It is amazing to see on a computer screen all four chambers of his heart and even the functioning heart valves – considering that his heart is now the size of your pinky finger nail – but there it was, thumping away. They did some “traditional” imaging and some 3D/4D, along with video clips. We have pictures of his spine and his feet, and videos of him yawning, wiggling, trying to scratch his nose, and suck his thumb.
I’ve been feeling him move around for about two weeks, which is a real kick (no pun intended).
In other news, Little Man is sitting up, eating real food (well, mashed real food) and is getting his first tooth – we can feel it, although we can’t quite see it yet! And he is SO CLOSE to crawling… I’d say we’re just a few days away – but what do I know? He also is chatting up a storm — “da da da” all the time, punctuated with wild laughter. He really is the best child ever. And the cutest, but I am biased. Oh, and he waved at someone today when I said, “say hello to Nancy.” I’m not sure he actually had the intentionality I am assigning to it, but hey, I’ll take it!
We have the best life ever. Thanks for letting me gush!
