I spent much of yesterday getting my small piece of the outdoors ready for summer. I put my 11-year-old, decrepit gas grill out to the curb; took my porch furniture downstairs for its annual hosing down; and planted some flowers, herbs, and tomatoes. I’m trying those “as seen on tv” Topsy Turvy planters for the latter – this year’s attempt at thwarting the squirrels that have been the bane of my tomato-growing existence. I still have a few more things to finish up (like getting a new grill) but otherwise, my little urban oasis is all set for many relaxing mornings of coffee drinking amidst the flowers.

After a week of 40’s & rain, this weekend was B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!!!! So we have been doing tons of yard work. Tons. So we were both “in the garden.”
That’s already more flowers than I have planted. Very nice!
Mmmmm lovely!!! We are not quite there yet. Can’t stand covering it all &/or bringing it in, so will wait. I did, however, have my second cup & newspaper on the new front porch this morn — enjoying the side of the house where the sun rises. Also had spiedies at Suzie & Tony’s tonight. Yummy!!! Not something I do just for myself :). Good day. Yeah SPRING !!
