Moms, Babies, and Friends

Since I haven’t written in a while, I thought I’d jump in with a Mothers Day three beautiful things.

1. Our Mom came to Texas for a visit this last week, which is a beautiful thing in its own right.  We had a great time doing everyday things, just hanging out and having fun…a little shopping, a little cleaning, and lots of playing with Little Man.

2. Since it’s Mothers Day, I have to say the most beautiful things in my life today are Little Man (who is now 20-21 pounds!! and in need of a new nickname) and Bump.  And Bump is now officially a bump – its a little bit scary thinking we’re only starting month 5 and I am so bumperific already!

3. To help us celebrate Mothers Day, and to ensure that Mom got as much grandmothering in as possible, we have had the bonus of having our friends son David, who is 17 months old, spend the weekend with us.  David is adorable and the boys have had a fun time learning how to share space with another pint sized person (and David has had fun getting to know the cats too).

Honorable mention, after 9 days without a functioning washing machine, the new one arrived Friday morning at 9:30.  By 9:30 Saturday we had washed and dried 9 loads.  I love my new machine…and I think Chris is excited since laundry doesn’t actually stink anymore, maybe now we won’t have a permanent fixture laundry pile in our kitchen.

How was your week?

And Happy Mothers Day to Mom, Jen, Loon, Sue, and all the other moms reading!!

Indeed, a happy happy day to all our participating Moms & Grandmas!! Being in Texas with Eileen & Chris & the babes is like going back to my former life — and I like it. :). ‘Doing’ several days of all that activity makes me glad that I can still do it. But, in all honesty, glad too that I don’t have to keep up that pace 365 anymore. :). YEAH for Grandmotherhood !!!

Hey – the first official bump picture made my 3BT list, too!!!! So did my talk with Mom, and #3 was the one kiddo who woke up on the wrong side of the bed risked punishment to jump into the front seat of the van as we pulled out for church to give me a hug (a long hard one). I asked him why (really, he did not want to come near ANYONE with a 10-foot-pole), and he said, “well, it’s your Mother’s Day hug and that’s what you said you really wanted.”

Yay! I’ve been waiting for a baby bump pic! You look adorable. 🙂 Happy Mother’s Day to you (and a big one to Mom too!)
