Given that the Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing and the Tidal Basin is swarmed with locals and tourists alike taking in the blooms, how could I possibly not feature photos of DC’s most famous flower today? Of course, I was not brave enough to join the throngs, so these pictures are of the tree in my neighbor’s front yard. I don’t know if it’s a Japanese cherry tree, but it sure is pretty.

Thank you!!! Absolutely lovely!
These that you captured don’t look as pink as I remember, but I think I’m remembering the tree outside Susan’s window?
Side note: Today was mid-60’s. We went for a family bike ride, and we passed kids in bathing suits having water gun fights – something I have NEVER seen on an Easter Sunday around here!!! Also of note: time to stuff 95 plastic eggs = 40 minutes, time to hide 95 plastic eggs (OUTSIDE for a change) = 8 minutes, time to find 95 eggs (in BARE FEET) = 17 minutes, and fortunately we have not hit the amount of time it will take to consume all of those eggs – yet.
