Fresh, Comfort, and Success

On a Saturday that hasn’t been as grim as I had expected weather-wise — though it is chilly — it’s time once again to look back at three beautiful things from the past week.

1. My laundry got to dry outside for the first time in months, and there’s nothing modern technology can produce that compares to sunshine and a stiff breeze for freshening clothes.

2. A cool, rainy Monday provided the perfect opportunity for my favorite cozy, comfort-food lunch: grilled cheese and tomato soup from Luna.

3. Not only did the Caps beat their arch-nemesis Pens on this week (beautiful enough on its own, really), but the game winning goal came from the team’s “old guy” – who, at 37, made the first shootout goal of his career.

Oh, and as a side note, I responded to about a week’s worth of comments today, so if you left one that didn’t get answered, it might be now. I’m trying to get better about replying.

AND the cherry blossom photos on today’s news are beautiful !!! The “viewers” do appear to be mostly clad in winter jackets. Wimps — even I just wore an extra layer today. I will NOT get IT out of the closet again. I’ll stay in first 🙂

P.S. I did notice all the catch up — fun. A cold day bonus.

Hey…nice TBT…but I wanna hear about the rotten tourisits :-)!
BTW…our weather guys have been so WRONG! Friday was supposed to be an inch of slushy accumulation. It was cold…but nice and sunny. Today was supposed to be cold…and the girls rode their bikes with a friend over to the school farm today…in sweatshirts. I’m happy their wrong and all, but I’m thinking I can predict weather THAT well!

Please post the cherry blossom photos! It’s been a definite stressful week here, but changing out my computer wallpaper to a beautiful field of tulips (thanks to your forsythia inspiration) has helped somewhat (1st BT). I tired in vain to stay up to welcome home my DH from a business trip – I lasted until 12:20 this morning. This AMAZING gentleman (2nd BT – his safe return) actually went out and got me coffee, and (sorry Sarah but) I so thought of you b/c I truly could not get out of bed until the java kicked in (coffee in bed =TBT).

@ Loon — coffee in bed for ANYONE is an over-the-top bonus. Love you “D” !!! For Moms, it is an extra bonus. 🙂

Hate to be a kill-joy about fresh-air laundry, but that works counter-productive to allergy prevention. You might want to keep that in mind through the spring unfortunately.

About the only thing of mine I can dry outside are towels. 😦
