Stuff and Nonsense

I don’t really have enough to say on anything in particular to warrant an entire blog post about one topic, but a few things have crossed my mind (or screen) today that seem worth sharing.

•     The blog name situation may soon be resolved. My friend Mike emailed me today with an idea I rather like, and so I am looking into buying a URL. I’m going to keep it under wraps for now, in case I can’t get what I want, but if I do, look for a new name soon… perhaps on my upcoming blogiversary.

•     Over at Wendalicious (a blog, incidentally, that Mike also named, though unwittingly and, in fact, quite a long time before blogging actually existed), Wendy takes on the most asinine piece of proposed legislation I’ve heard about in a while. And that’s saying something, given that the US would undoubtedly get the gold if suggesting dumbass laws were an Olympic event.

•     Micromanagement run amok, or a useful list of tropes for newsreaders & reporters to avoid? Discuss.

•     I’m not the world’s biggest football fan, but find this story awesome nevertheless.

    1. Will your new name incorporate your fondness for a certain type of language (“cuss” I just wanna know)?
    2. That proposed law is HYSTERICAL!!!! Obviously, there are no real crises for legislators to focus their attentions on, so they pick this type of stuff?
    3. I hope her team wins right away, so people will shut up. I can’t believe that attitude (“I don’t want to be the coach who loses to her”)is STILL around! Been there, done that. Get over it, world!
    4. Please give your sis extra hugs from me & our gang! Hold the kiddo and tell him a not-so-embarrassing story about us.

…because I’m enough of a geek to use whois and check up on my suggestion… 😀
