Daylight, Cookie, and Final

After three games back following the Olympic break, the Caps have three wins — and yet, I somehow have three other beautiful things to share for the past week.

1. Though I mentioned it the other day when I spotted my first crocus of the spring, the fact that it’s now daylight after work makes me so happy. I am delighted to be moving into the time of the year with longer days and more sunshine.

2. On Thursday afternoon, I was having a sweets craving in the worst way, and said – to no one and everyone – that I was dying for a cookie. A moment later, a hand holding a bag of Pepperidge Farm chocolate chip cookies popped over my cube wall. Yum!

3. More than a year ago, I wrote about my friends Erin & Paul’s desire to adopt, and last January, a beautiful baby girl joined their family. This week, her adoption became final, so the legalities and paperwork have caught up with Erin & Paul’s hearts. I am absolutely overjoyed for them.

Yeah for Erin & Paul!!! We’ve had them on our hearts, so thank you so very much for that update!!!

Our beautiful things would include: (after the shock wore off) the underwear hanging (colors contrasted nicely with the snow), youngest child jumping into the pool and swimming about 4 feet to a platform unassisted (apparently the surprise / terror on my face was pretty amusing), and consecutive sunny 40+ degree days.

My three beautiful things are all from yesterday:

    1. the awesome breakfast I got that kept me full until about 4pm.

    2. getting all my souvenir shopping done at the Swap Meet, including finding a really funky toy frog for Wyatt and totally adorable Hawaiian shirts for the kids.

    3. a really memorable and moving trip to Pearl Harbor–went to see the Mighty Mo and the Arizona. It was a really excellent day!

Yeah on all fronts!! Fourth sunny day in a row here too — sat on my front porch today. My red face is NOT snow burn 🙂

I’m so happy for Erin & Paul — and what a lucky little girl she is — getting and giving love!!

@Loon — the bra hanging queen!! What does one do for an encore??

I got into cookies this week too — oatmeal/raisin. Two dozen!! YUM. My total annual consumption in two days! A right of spring, I do believe….
