Winning, Growing, and Cooking

It’s been a while, I know, but here are three beautiful things from the past week:

1. I was able to go to two Caps games this week and watch them tie — and then surpass — their longest winning streak since the late 1980s.  It’s too soon to know, of course, how long this hot streak will last, but right now, I’m having fun watching all of the winning.

2. I got to take a victory lap of my own at the office when the work Facebook page (one of my projects) reached 10,000 fans. It’s not as popular as, say, coffee, but for a nonprofit that doesn’t focus on threats to puppies or the polar ice caps, we’re doing really well.

3. Today’s unexpectedly large snowfall kept me indoors all day, but I made the most of the time with a burst of domesticity. In addition to the mundane stuff like laundry and vacuuming, I spent a good bit of time in the kitchen and have chicken & biscuits and a delicious apple crisp to show for my efforts.

Love the new look. Your header was one of my favorite pictures from your slideshow. Sorry, but have not been able to get the kids on board with #1 (they cheered for your nemesis today, but that’s OK since Detroit is in our way). As for #3: I want some!

Just getting on board tonight; your blog did NOT update on my iPhone. How come? Tweets are up to date. Hmmmm. Anyway, love the new header. What is it? I have a hankering for chix & biscuits too. Must be “Phil” will see his shadow tomorrow. And, the CAPS wins are just such fun. I remember well all our good times with the Dusters & Whalers!
