Oh, this is too much fun. The website for my favorite tv show, Mad Men, now has a feature where you can play dress-up with all manner of 60s clothes, hairstyles, and accessories — and then you can drop your creation into any number of scenes from the show.
It’s like paper dolls, only with pixels!
Here’s my casual weekend look:
And my earnest career-gal persona:
And my posh, martini-swilling nightlife:
If I wasn’t playing earnest career gal in real life, I could spend all afternoon on this.
Try it out at madmenyourself.com, and, if you’re so inclined (and, well, know me enough to have the address) email me your creations. I’ll do a follow-up post — maybe with a guess-the-reader quiz? — with them if I get enough.
By the way… if you aren’t watching Mad Men, you should be — it’s probably the best thing on television right now. Season three starts next month, but there is still time to grab yourself some DVDs and get caught up on the events at Sterling-Cooper. You won’t be sorry you did.
