Going Mad

Oh, this is too much fun. The website for my favorite tv show, Mad Men, now has a feature where you can play dress-up with all manner of 60s clothes, hairstyles, and accessories — and then you can drop your creation into any number of scenes from the show.

It’s like paper dolls, only with pixels!

Here’s my casual weekend look:

And my earnest career-gal persona:

madmen-office

And my posh, martini-swilling nightlife:

madmen-martini

If I wasn’t playing earnest career gal in real life, I could spend all afternoon on this.

Try it out at madmenyourself.com, and, if you’re so inclined (and, well, know me enough to have the address) email me your creations. I’ll do a follow-up post — maybe with a guess-the-reader quiz? — with them if I get enough.

By the way… if you aren’t watching Mad Men, you should be — it’s probably the best thing on television right now. Season three starts next month, but there is still time to grab yourself some DVDs and get caught up on the events at Sterling-Cooper. You won’t be sorry you did.

Comcast has Season 2 available OnDemand for free… in HD… FTW!

Oh, I should have picked the skinnier option like you! Mine ended up too hippy (but hey, the bigger chest is kind of pleasant). It is fun.

Ok! I’ve gone mad…you should have my creation by now. 🙂

Gotta love a great time-waster. The music was even uber-cool.

@Chris – Every time I manage to convince myself I’m happy with my old-skool tv and that I don’t want to buy an HD one, I read something like your comment (which I basically read as “Don Draper in hi-def!”). And now, I’m back to thinking I want one.

@ CL & Sionna – You’re the only two submissions so far. C’mon, everyone else, or this is gonna be too easy to figure out!

Okay…I’ve tried twice and all it seems to do is f* up my computer. Sorry.
