This past week was, fortunately, a bit more low-key than the last — I’m not sure I could have kept up the frantic pace much longer. Despite not having such a wide array of activities, I did still manage to get a photo almost every day for my Project 365. And… since I started the week at the National Zoo with my family, I even have a bonus picture from Monday to make up for the one day I did miss.
June 15: I don't know which of the pandas this is, but s/he sure is cute.June 15: So, are the animals the most exciting thing at the zoo to a five-year-old boy? Of course not... the construction on the elephant walk is. After watching trasfixed for several minutes, D said -- mostly to himself, but extremely earnestly -- "I HAVE to be a construction worker." June 16: The triange park by my apartment has been full of fireflies lately. Given how many there are, it's a good bit harder to catch them on film (or, er... an SD card) than I expected, but I did finally get one.
June 17: On Wednesday, I went to see "Rock and Roll" at the Studio Theatre.
Whoops; I missed Thursday. Something about the fact that I didn’t leave work until almost 9 made me less inclined to look for something to photograph on the way home.
June 19: It takes serious soil control to get such distinctly blue and pink hydrangeas so close together.June 20: After a morning full of thunderstorms, the afternoon was perfect for a cookout -- and Ali & Sean obliged with a lovely one.June 21: While I was reading in bed this morning, Smoky was lounging nearby, giving me a deeply suspicious look for no apparent reason.
I can’t pick a favorite picture – I really like all of them. I still have a huge soft spot for pandas, I miss fireflies, blue hydrangeas are one of my favorites (have never seen 2 colors side-by-side except in separate pots in a nursery), have been trying to plan a “real” date to a theatre, the lanterns are such fun….so many neat choices! Hope today is less chaotic for you than Friday!!!

A cool selection of pictures. All neat! I’ll bet that hydrangea garden is two pot inserts; can’t imagine how you could keep the acid in the soil from leaching one into the other.
And, is Smokey turning more brownish in his older age? I recall him being very dark gray as a younger kitty. He looks “foiled”!
Glad you had a good weekend; it is so wet in the northeast that the ground can’t take another drop — thank goodness the basement drain is doing its thing 🙂 Two trees in the neighborhood just simply uprooted yesterday from nothing other than being boggy/soggy.
