Watching, Progressing, and Relaxing

Ah, it’s Monday again, and a rainy, chilly one at that. It’s almost enough have kept me under the covers, but I decided to be a big girl and get up and start the week. I may, however, need a pair of cheerful wellies in order to keep facing these sorts of mornings, though.

But, enough about my gray morning (and rainboot fixation)… here are three beautiful things from the past week.

1. On Monday, I took a half-day off and went to the Nationals home opener. Though we didn’t win, I did have a great time playing hooky from work and having a beer and hotdog while watching the game on a lovely afternoon.

2. I made a lot of progress on my long-dormant skirt project this week — it’s about a foot long now.

3. I spent most of Saturday sitting on Bethany Beach, watching the waves, knitting, and chatting. There are few better ways to spend a day.

Chris and I just returned from a week of vacation on Pensacola’s fine white sand beaches with Common Loon & Family. But I shall try to limit myself to TBT

    1. Monday we took CL family to Johnson Space Center in Houston before driving to P’Cola on Tuesday. The boys loved the rockets – I never knew a-w-e-s-o-m-e could sound so cool.

    2. We were shaken from our slumber Wednesday morning by the Blue Angels practicing over head (our cabins were at the end of the Navy fight line). Again, the boys were in heaven – as was Uncle Chris! It was neat and started our beach week off in style.

    3. Auntie Eileen _loves_ white sand and blue water, mostly because it shows off the shells so well. Once upon a time friends told me my grave would read “Eileen went off in search of the perfect shell and never returned…” I try to live up to that whenever possible, and this time I had little helpers! I never cease to be amazed a the number and diversity of shells – so awesome 😉

@ Eileen: THANK YOU so very much for your company & help!!! My head spins at all of the beautiful things from the past several days. We are back and completely exhausted. The pictures from this end will be delayed, but they will get to you by your birthday.

@ Sarah: Thank you for the kind words. Hope bseball made up for Saturday. Yes, we came in from the beach to cheer for you.

@ Mom: Thank you for the card & extravagence. I will end up getting my first purse in almost 7 years (no more diaper bag).

    @ Susan: w/o the “cha-cha-cha’s” it’s tough to id your girls 🙂

Goota go do laundry & get ready for next trip. We won’t be taking the boys. We’ll depart shortly and be back before Monday.
