43-49/365: A Week’s Worth (from Two Weeks Ago)

I am happy to report that, despite the dearth of posts, I have been plugging along at my photo-a-day project. (Well, the taking pictures part anyway. Clearly I haven’t been keeping up with the making them public part of the deal.) Here’s the middle of February, starting from the 12th, the point at which I left off. I’ll have a second mega-post to catch up later today, and then (fingers crossed) I’ll get back on track with uploading these daily.

February 12: Mmm... Cupcakes.

February 13: My messy, messy desk at work. It's about time to tip the whole thing into the recycle bin and start over.

Feburary 14: 14: The Saturday farm line at Eastern Market.

February 15: Even for someone like me, who is not especially sentimental about my pets, I do find this little spooning thing they do to be ridiculously cute.

I celebrated Presidents' Day by going to see the Lincoln exhibit at the Library of Congress. It's been ages since I've been there, and I had forgotten how amazingly beautiful it is.

I took this picture mostly because I was so excited to see the sun shining along the rooflines on 18th Street. It was thrilling because it was AFTER work -- a sign that a) I had, for once, left work at a decent hour and b) it was still daylight at 5:20 p.m.

February 18: At knitting group, sprite finished the absurdly long bind-off on the lap throw she was making for her grandma.

I LOVE the throw! It’s beautiful…the color is so rich. She did great!

Heh, your desk looked like mine…I did a recycle bin dump on Friday. Highly recommend it. It’s very liberating.

Spooning cats. I’m surprised to see either doing it, especially Dingle. He was never very nice to other cats and Smokey is just…well…slightly feral. I guess they are finally used to each other eh? It is very cute.

I would love to see that Lincoln exhibit some year….my friend works at the LoC (the one that met us at National for lunch several years ago)…maybe she has an “in” for things that aren’t normally public? Might be worth looking into. 😉

Thanks, Sionna! (And you, too, Sarah, for including me as one of your pictures.) Gramma picked out the yarn for a quilt I made last fall for a friend’s wedding. When I only used up half for the first quilt, I thought the rest ought to go back to my grandmother.

Cupcakes again! They’re everywhere!!! I may have to give in…

And, the cats are TOO cute. Dingle must have been too tired to be mean 🙂

Is that the Lincoln exhibit where they have the 7-foot plaster version of the Lincoln Memorial statue? I heard about it recently and thought it sounded really interesting.
