Yesterday afternoon I realized that I had snapped a quick photo of something nearly every day of this new year, Friday being the only exception. This got me thinking about a new feature for the blog — a daily picture for 2009. Then, as if to prove that this is a good, if unoriginal, idea, I noticed a group of photos loaded to a friend’s Facebook page in an album called “Project 365.” After reading the album description and doing some googling, I landed here. It turns out the photo-a-day thing is an official Internet movement. I would not be alone in my attempt to document the year in pictures.
I’m not sure how I want to do it yet, though, so I thought I’d throw it out to the six or so of you who make up my regular readers. The iPhone allows me to upload pictures directly to the blog, which is the quickest, easiest, and most immediate way to do this. It would, however, mean I’d be posting raw, unedited images, so the quality might not always be ideal. For example:
The other options would be to use Flickr or Picasa and do weekly or monthly slideshows. The pictures would look better, no doubt, but I have concerns about my ability to actually follow through on cropping, color-correcting, and uploading the pictures in a timely manner. I don’t have an excellent track record in this regard, and am not sure that I have the wherewithal to resolve to do better.
