So nothing really has changed for us in the last two hours – and that is good news so I thought I’d share.
There really isn’t much else to say or report but I’ll try.
I’m learning a whole new vocabulary. Ike is a bit of an odd storm, from what I’m hearing. It has Category 2 winds but Category 4 storm surge…and the whole beach pounding which has been going on from 10am (I think) appears to be quite unusual (in so far as that usually comes much closer to the actual center of the storm/eye wall).
So we are having 35-40 mph sustained winds right now with gusts probably 55-60 I’m guessing. So far all the trees are still standing. But still no rain…(we expect 5-10″ when all is said and done).
There you have it. We are still fine. As of 9pm Friday all is well the greater Myerland neighborhood of Houston, Texas.
