Rockin’ the Red, Restroom-Style

I’ve been going to hockey games since I was a little girl, but still learned something I didn’t know last night: that men apparently don’t use the bathroom during regulation time when it’s game seven of the playoffs. Or so it seemed, at least, when every guy at the Phone Booth decided to hit the restroom before overtime.

Rockin' the Red, Restroom-Style

(Note that this picture is only part of the line; the iPhone does not have the wide-angle lens necessary to capture the whole thing. It was one of the longest — and grumpiest — restroom lines I have ever seen. I guess the boys didn’t like finding out that it can be uncomfortable to wait. Tragic, isn’t it?)

The outcome of the game, needless to say, was disappointing — mostly because it was due to crap officiating. It’s safe to say that when a playoff series makes it to overtime in game seven, the teams are pretty well-matched, and to my mind, this was the case with the Caps and the Flyers. Either team could have won, and really, I wouldn’t feel badly about the loss, except that having it come due to senseless referees rather than a truly outstanding play makes it a little cheap.

Overall, though, coming back from being the worst team in the NHL to Southeast Division champs and putting up a truly impressive playoff effort is an amazing feat, and one that I hope has given the team a great deal of pride. They deserve it.

Hey there! L O V E D the smiling, happy faces in your photo! Gee, maybe they should have used the ladies’ room too 🙂 🙂 So sorry your team did not prevail, but as you said, what an effort and a remarkable season and outcome!

They did have a great run even if it didn’t end as we wished. Worst to division champs is nothing to sneeze at. Besides, Alex the great is locked in for quite a while and Huet is really promising. Here’s to next year!

Should’ve offered the guys in line rubberbands or chip clips…oh well…maybe they will be a little more compassionate with the women in their lives???

On the bright side…your team has a great future (solid coaching, strong offense) and there aren’t as many futures in question (re: NW division champs). What great things were accompished in essentially half a season – from last to first. Our franchise player seems to have the head of a goalie (we’re hoping that’s just a maturity thing). Guess it’s time for you to “settle” for the division champ T-shirt after all (at least until 2008-2009).

Did I ramble too much for a 1st timer?

I don’t follow hockey at all, but I am totally familiar with the come-back-from-behind teams. Sounds like it was a great run and they have nothing to be ashamed of.

It sucks when it ends but like we all say…there’s always next year.

Cool shot of the mens room line. Welcome to our world guys!
