My DC: Mmm, Pancakes

For those of us who live on Capitol Hill, Eastern Market is a central part of our lives and routines, and despite the horrible fire that damaged the historic market building back in the spring, it is still going strong. Even though it’s now located in the temporary structure while the old building is being rehabbed, Market Lunch is still serving its famous blueberry pancakes, which is what I was waiting to order when I snapped this week’s photo.

My DC - Mmm, Pancakes

Because my iPhone doesn’t have much going for it in terms of camera settings, this photo came out a bit overexposed. In trying to salvage it using the automated settings in Picasa, I found this cool graduated color effect, which improved the picture dramatically, I think.

Neat picture — like the color contrast. I can’t imagine standing in line for blueberry pancakes — sound yummy, though! Is there a warm place to sit and eat them?

Do you know, as many times as I’ve been there, I’ve never ordered the famous blueberry pancakes? I need to remedy this. From Adams-Morgan, there’s a bus – one of the 90somethings – that’ll take us straight to Eastern Market, so we’ll be able to get there more often. It’s such a pain to get there from here, we haven’t been in ages.

I tend to get the crabcake sandwich. Oh, wow. Wow.
