My DC: Bright Lights, Big City?

This week’s “My DC” photo is a view that is almost uniquely mine — it’s what I see when I look out the back door of my apartment.

The picture really doesn’t begin to do it justice, honestly. It’s so, so bold that it needs to be seen to be believed. The strings of lights look kind of as if my neighbor just stood under the tree and tossed them up without a care as to where they landed. It makes for a kind of chaotic exuberance that’s just a lot of fun. The only downside is that highly-decorated tree is right across the street from my bedroom window, so while I really kinda love the crazy lights, it can be a little bright when I am trying to fall asleep. (Overall, I like it too much to care about that, though.)

It looks like fireworks exploding in a tree. Wow.
