Some Folks Aren’t Dreaming of a White Christmas

But that’s only because they’re having one!

Like my cousin Kate, for example, who has provided today’s entry in the “we’re having a white Christmas and you’re not” sweepstakes. Kate lives near Minneapolis, so in addition to a white Christmas, she and her family will be enjoying a white President’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and perhaps Memorial Day. Knowing that makes me a little less envious, I must say.

Some Folks Aren’t Dreaming of a White Christmas

It sure is pretty, though.

Mother Nature is a Grinch….our “guarranteed White Christmas” is going to get wiped out by a massive rain storm on Sunday.

    Hrumph.

The rain is coming down in buckets here in northern Connecticut right now, along with gale-force winds. This morning, the ground was covered in about 8 inches of wet snow; by morning, we’ll see what remains.

If it’s any consolation, it’s supposed to get cold again on Monday – so ice will be the rule, come Santa’s sleigh-riding time.

Thank you for the fire 🙂 BUT snowflakes … Sweetpea, this is just too much techno 🙂 Dare I ask HOW you managed that? And I hang my head for even suggesting that you save time by abondoning Christmas cookie-baking … especially since I LOVE Choc. Crinkles and am thrilled to have your recipe from Aunt Ann. I just KNOW I will find the time between Christmas and New Years Eve to make a batch. If I hurry we can eat them all before that dreaded NY Resolution kicks in. May the New Year be bright for you and your friends; I so do enjoy reading you.
