I don’t know how I always manage to get my three beautiful things posted so much earlier on Mondays that I work than the ones I don’t, but, well… Just one of the mysteries of me, I guess.
Here are three beautiful things from the past week:
1. I went to a Capitals game on Saturday, and one of their gimmicks when there is a long time out is the “smile cam,” which searches out the fan with the biggest smile to win a prize. (I think it is sponsored by dentists. Seriously.) The winner was a little boy with a massive, goofy grin and — rather inexplicably, as hockey isn’t especially loud — gigantic, neon-green ear plugs. He brought a smile to everyone’s faces.
2. In a moment of hilarious awkwardness, my brother introduced himself to one of my friends last night at the Springsteen show as “Sarah’s sister.” I know he meant to say “Sarah is my sister” but it cracked me up. I’m thinking that having a huge laugh at my brother’s expense should not be a beautiful thing, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t.
3. I finally finished knitting the mohair scarf of doom, which means I can move on to a new project with yarn that doesn’t drive me insane. Yeah! (It is awfully pretty, though, even though I thought I was going to lose my mind making it.)
