It’s Monday

Hey y’all. It is a Monday and today should have included Three Beautiful Things. And as usual when Sweetpea is on the road, I try to fill in the gaps. But today I don’t really have TBT in me.

I have just returned from 10 hours in a hospital waiting room with my mother-in-law, grandmother-in-law, and three to five family friends coming and going. Chris’s Dad had prostate cancer surgery today and I was the entertainment committee. I guess my one and only beautiful thing today is that the surgery went well (and I survived without losing my cool). And although the pathology report isn’t due for a couple of weeks, the doc said it went as well as he could have hoped.

So that is my Monday in a nut shell as well as my one and only beautiful thing. Now I am off to bed! Goodnight friends.

Ah, but Snapdragon, that’s three beautiful things in one:

    1) The surgery went well and the doctor was pleased.
    2) You didn’t lose your cool.
    3) You shared with us that your day was crappy, even though you didn’t have to.

You might not consider the last item beautiful, but I sure do.

Best wishes to your FIL as he recovers from his surgery and starts treatment. We’ll be thinking of you all.

Hey… Thanks for letting me (and everyone else) know that everything went well. And my apologies for not calling to check in–I had it in my head that the surgery was Wednesday. I’m so glad to hear that the doc is feeling positive. Please give Chris and the rest of the family hugs from me.

My dad is currently in remission for prostate cancer. If Chris wants to email me, I’d be happy to talk to him. It’s not easy watching your father go through something like this.

And as for you, I’ve been there too. I’ve been the in-law trying to keep her sh*t together while the MIL had her surgery way back when. It’s not easy but you do what you have to do to support your husband and his family. Lots of hugs sweety! You did good!

Once again — too many times this year — you are the ROCK! You’ve surely not had an easy role this year — being the daughter and granddaughter has been tough enough, but the DIL can be even more challenging. But you do it all for the person you LOVE most in the world and that makes it perfect. YOU ARE WONDERFUL! Give a big hug to Chris and take one back too (and a gentle hug for David — with my love and prayers). He WILL be fine! I love you all, Mom

    UPDATE:

Hey y’all, Thanks for your well wishes. Chris’s dad is home from the hospital and making a decent recovery (been a bit slower than hoped for but he is doing well).

Anyway, just wanted you to know that, and that I really appreciate all the moral support. You guys rock!
