Christmas at the White House

Did you know the White House is a National Park? It’s true!

And because it is, I was able to be invited by my friend Jenny (who works for the National Park Service) to spend some time this morning checking out the White House holiday decorations.

I can say without hesitation that they are spectacular, and that whomever designed the decor — along with the colleague responsible for the gingerbread White House — are welcome to come over and help me fancify my apartment for Christmas anytime.

Many thanks to Jenny for the invite!

Did you need to give your SSN to visit this National Park?

Yup. And show my driver’s licence (twice), get sniffed by a bomb dog, and go through a metal detector. It’s a bit more secure than your typical National Park.
