One of the nicest things about a four-day weekend is losing track of what day of the week it is, even briefly. And I did just that as I was thinking about what to write here on the blog today. It took me a moment to remember it is Saturday, and therefore I already have a topic – three beautiful things from the past week.
1. Walking to the train on Wednesday on my way home from the office, the sun hit a building across the street just right, showing off its reflective front in a way I’d never noticed before.

2. I didn’t sleep in much later than usual on my days off, but rather than jumping into the shower like I would on a work day, I sat on my porch, drank coffee, and re-read a favorite book from my childhood, From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
3. At one point during last night’s Springsteen concert, I closed my eyes and instead of watching, just felt the music. As the drums pounded in my chest and the guitars buzzed in my ears, I knew I was in a perfect moment.
What’s been beautiful in your life this week?
1. Love your picture!
2. One of my favorite things about teaching is sharing ‘old favorite’ books with my class. Mrs. Basil is one I read every other year or so…along with The Twenty-One Balloons…ever read that one? I love youth books…
