10 on Tuesday: Babaganoush

Today's photo-a-day prompt was "something you don't like." My choice: unsurprising.
Today's photo-a-day prompt was "something you don't like." My choice: unsurprising.

Today’s 10 on Tuesday questions come, once again, courtesy of Roots and Rings.

1. What was the last gift someone gave you for no reason at all? My friend Mary brought me a container of Trader Joe’s sea salt and chocolate almonds last time we had lunch. Do not buy them for yourself unless you want to become addicted.

2. What is the last gift you gave someone for no reason at all? I brought my friend/coworker Alison a plush toy of her favorite character from Pearls Before Swine, Rat.

3. What is your favorite thing you like to do alone? I live by myself, so I guess I like to most things alone, but I’ll go with read, so I have some sort of an answer.

4. What is your favorite thing to with a group of friends? Probably a tie between brunch and happy hour. Oh, and on nice days, hanging out outside.

5. What is on your agenda for tomorrow? Four and a half hours of meetings, punctuated by lots and lots of editing. (Busy time at the office.)

6. What would you do tomorrow if you didn’t have any responsibilities? Probably drink coffee and read on the porch, after sleeping in ridiculously late.

7. What is something you miss from your childhood? Hmmm… At this moment, climbing trees. Which is weird, given how afraid of heights I am now.

8. What is something you don’t miss at all from your childhood? Riding the bus to Middle School. Worst.

9. What is your favorite word? Babaganoush:Fun to say and delicious.

10. What is your least favorite word? Crusty. I don’t know why, but it’s just a gross-sounding word to me.

Your turn in the comments!

  1. 1. Homemade cucumber-aloe infused lotion
    2. Homemade pajamas
    3. Sew
    4. Eat / coffee
    5. Drive the shuttle, AAA run, groceries, volunteer at school, 2.5 hour workout finale if my migraine is gone
    6. Sleep in, go out for a salad someone else made
    7. The cherry blossoms outside of my sister’s bedroom window (happens every year during the Spring)
    8. The awkwardness of middle school
    9. Anything with 4 syllables (our family does a corny jingle / dance whenever one comes up)
    10. Tie between “bored” (I believe boredom is a choice, so don’t complain about it when it’s self-inflicted) and “can’t” (more often the appropriate word is won’t, people can do just about anything IF they choose, but often they just don’t make the effort and fall back on can’t)

  2. 1. What was the last gift someone gave you for no reason at all? A small chunk of change. My grandfather has been gone for almost 3 years now but his investments live on and somehow yield when I need it most. I think he’s looking out for me.

    2. What is the last gift you gave someone for no reason at all? Two pieces of dark chocolate for my former boss.

    3. What is your favorite thing you like to do alone? Read.

    4. What is your favorite thing to with a group of friends? Hang at a bar/restaurant with drinks and just shoot the breeze.

    5. What is on your agenda for tomorrow? Work, run home, get daughter to dance class, come home, do laundry, watch a little tv and go to bed. Real exciting stuff.

    6. What would you do tomorrow if you didn’t have any responsibilities? Sleep in, read, take a nap, eat junk food and read some more. Maybe watch a movie too.

    7. What is something you miss from your childhood? Playing outside “until the street light comes on” without a care in the world. That and the Magic Garden.

    8. What is something you don’t miss at all from your childhood? Middle School. All of it.

    9. What is your favorite word? Swell. I know it’s a 20s-30s kind of word, but I like it. Works great in sarcasm too.

    10. What is your least favorite word? Um, a word that I will not repeat here….
