Happy (Belated) Blogiversary to Me

I hit three years as a blogger on April 1, but time got away from me and now I’m catching up with it on the same date as last year. One more year of this and I think April 8 will officially become the “observed” date for my blogiversary.

I didn’t miss it entirely this year, however. As promised, I launched the new blog name at the beginning of the month. It’s amazing to me that it took so long to finally make the change. I regretted the original blog name I chose almost immediately, but I didn’t let on until almost 13 months later — and it’s taken almost two more years to find a name that I liked enough to make the switch.

I didn’t think of it myself, though. Credit for the new name goes to my friend Mike, who warned me that it might be too punny for me to use. Now, that he came up with a name that’s a pun is entirely non-shocking, because Mike is one of the punniest people I know. (Seriously. If creating puns was an Olympic sport, he’d be the Apolo Ohno of punnery. Or maybe the Michael Phelps, depending on whether punning is considered a winter or summer event. Either way, I’m talking multiple medals over multiple years.) I’ve been known to mock his fondness for puns occasionally over the years, so I am glad he still opted to send it to me, knowing I might groan. I think it’s quite witty, in fact, and rather wish I had thought of it myself!

Beyond the new name — and header, which I designed to go with it — I haven’t changed much else here at Ye Olde Blogge yet. I just updated the template a couple of months ago, and couldn’t find another I liked better, so I left that alone. I’m slowly working my way through tweaking the categories and tags, which means the sidebar navigation might look a bit different as time goes on.

And now, here’s the annual look at some of my blog stats.

I got up and attempted some physical efforts this morning to show some solidarity.
